Tentative Schedule of Events
Friday, May 21, 2010Seminars will run from 1 PM to 7 PM on Friday, May 21, 2010 at the Hilton Garden Inn Omaha West. There is NO COST to PRE-REGISTERED COMPETITORS. Anyone who has not pre-registered will be charged a small fee at the door to help cover expenses. Below is a list of some of the scheduled events:SEMINAR TITLE: Film Careers for the Martial Artist Don “the Dragon” Wilson – Don Wilson is arguably one of the most successful kickboxing champions in history. During his amazing career held over 11 world kickboxing titles. His martial arts film career has been no less spectacular; Wilson has starred in over 27 films. During this special seminar Don will discuss some of the ways to turn your martial arts skills into a career in the film industry. SEMINAR TITLE: Martial Mechanics Sifu Philip “Pete” Starr – Sifu Starr is a living icon in the martial arts world. He is a former USKA world champion and AAU Presidential Leadership Award recipient. A bestselling author, Sifu Starr has written four books on the martial arts including: Martial Mechanics, Martial Maneuvers, and the Making of a Butterfly. Sifu Starr’s seminar will focus on achieving maximum results with minimum effort in the practice of the martial arts. SEMINAR TITLE: Combat Hapkido – Trapping and Joint Locks Master Michael Rowe – Master Rowe has studied under some of the best martial artists in the world and has black belts in a number of different martial arts styles. He literally wrote the book on Combat Hapkido entitled, “Introduction to Combat Hapkido: The Science of Self-Defense”. In this seminar Master Rowe will be demonstrating some of the trapping and upper body joint locks common in the Combat Hapkido curriculum. SEMINAR TITLE: Basic Staff Fighting Routines Shihan Frank Williams, PhD - Shihan Williams is the president of the Zen Sekai Bujitsu Kyokai or Universal Martial Arts Association. The UMAA has members in over 20 countries around the world. Shihan Williams will be sharing some of his favorite two man Bo fighting drills in this seminar.
